AWANA
AWANA is all wrapped up until September 2013...we hope to see you then!AWANA stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed and is based on 2 Timothy 2:15 - Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth.
The goal of AWANA is to disciple each child into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, to develop a deeper knowledge of the Bible and to instill a love and respect for God and His Word. This is done through games, music, scripture memory, life lessons and personal care to encourage children to keep pressing on with Jesus. There is no greater calling than to lead a child to the Savior. The reward is eternal. You do not need to attend our church to participate in this amazing program.
Who is AWANA for?
At NBWC, AWANA is designed for four age groups:
- Cubbies: ages 3 through preschool
- Sparks: Kindergarten through 2nd grade
- T&T Club: 3rd through 6th grade
When is AWANA?
From September to May on Wednesday nights from 6:30-8:00 p.m.
What does AWANA do?
AWANA’s goal is to reach boys and girls with the good news of Jesus and train them to serve Him. We do this through three separate components:
Council Time. During council time the children are introduced to speakers who bring the message of Christ’s love to them.
Handbook Time. The focus of handbook time is to learn God’s word. One goal of Awana is to have children to begin to memorize scripture. At this time children recite scripture as well develop relationships with each other and an adult table leader.
Game Time. Game time allows kids to have fun and to build teamwork skills.
